“You Are Handsome too”

Hello and welcome to Stories, facts and dreams.

Thank you for the wonderful respond to my first blog. Here is something you probably want to check out today.

I think the title is enough to tell you about today’s topic. Yes! Today’s blog is on a boy, rather it’s on boys and men around us.

We live in a society where gender equality and Women Empowerment is the global issue, Gender equality means both Men and Women have the same rights and same power to express oneself, but believe me or not men’s topic is often overlooked that they also desire the sort of understanding and affection as well. They too have feelings and emotions, they too need freedom of expression. I know now some people will say that “same goes for women too” and of course, it goes for women too, it should go both ways and that’s called the real gender equality and I feel, We girls are lucky because we can get it from lots of people around us.

Men are just as vital as that of women, then why they are constantly taught to be tough, to stick to the character that is seen as masculine, to hide their emotions but give the emotional support to their family when needed, otherwise the society will not accept them and that’s the reason they decide to remain strong and afraid to express themselves in the fear of world judging them. I personally experienced it when one of my friends lost his father, and he was not able to express himself properly, no one asked him to cry as much as he wants without any fear, no one asked him to feel comfortable to share his thoughts. Is it because, he has a responsibility towards his family, or just because he is a boy?

Remember, an individual can only hold so much on their own until they break from choked feelings. It kills me from inside when I think about this and I hope the society sooner accept the fact that men are also allowed to be sensitive and to show emotions and it is not necessary to pretend to be fine all the time. They are humans too. It’s okay to be not okay.

I feel it’s our responsibility to ask them about the things which they don't want to talk about, support them, be the pillar of strength for them, compliment them, make them feel safe and home and thanks them for being there all the time.

This blog is surely dedicated to my dad, my brothers, male friends and of course all the men out there. Thank you for your existences.

This is Shraddha Kshirsagar saying adieu to all. See you soon in the next blog with a new story and new dreams.
